This is one of my first paper mache sculptures, and I was hoping to evoke the forms of sea creatures and plants in its wobbly curves and ruffled edges. It is sturdy but pliable; the edges of the sculpture feel leathery and thick, and they can bend a bit but are able to break if mistreated.

The piece is made using kraft paper and recycled household paper, pva glue, acrylic texture paste, acrylic paint, steel armature and bolt, and a cradled wooden base.

I hope it looks weathered and natural like so many things you may see on a beach walk.
